The Simpson County Animal Shelter presently has one Animal Control Officer and several volunteers from Friends of the Shelter who take care of the animals and provide them with a loving home. Spay/Neuter is encouraged to prevent pet overpopulation. Low cost spay/neuter is offered by The Fix Foundation next door to the Animal Shelter located on Kenneth Utley Drive. The clinic number is (270)586-6600. The Fix Foundation clinic is open Tuesday - Friday.

The price guarantees the animal spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, deworming and flea treatment. Those interested in adopting an animal must complete an adoption application. A copy of the application can be found below and must be completed and turned in to the Animal Shelter located on Kenneth Utley Drive. The adoption application will have to be approved through Friends of the Shelter before the animal is released.

A dog license or kennel license is required every year for dogs 6 months or older. Dog licenses or kennel licenses expire June 30 of every year and will be renewable July 1st of every year. A dog license is $3.00 each and kennel licenses are $30.00 for up to 50 tags. These licenses can be obtained in the County Judge / Executive's office and at the Animal Shelter.
