The Simpson County Animal Shelter presently has one Animal Control Officer and several volunteers from Friends of the Shelter who take care of the animals and provide them with a loving home.

The Adoption Fee for dogs and puppies is $65. This price guarantees that the dog has either been spayed or neutered and has had their rabies vaccination. Those interested in adopting a dog or puppy must complete an adoption application. A copy of the application can be found below and must be completed and turned in to the Animal Shelter located on Ditmore Ford Rd. The adoption application will have to be approved through Friends of the Shelter before the animal is released.

A dog license or kennel license is required every year for dogs 6 months or older. Dog licenses or kennel licenses expire June 30 of every year and will be renewable July 1st of every year. A dog license is $3.00 each and kennel licenses are $30.00 for up to 50 tags. These licenses can be obtained in the County Judge / Executive's office.
